Plagiarism Policy
Journal of Health and Environmental Governance maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works authored by the submitting author(s).
Plagiarism Screening
All submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) prior to peer review and again before publication.
Acceptable Similarity Threshold
- A manuscript with an overall similarity index below 20% may proceed to editorial assessment, provided no single source exceeds 3% similarity without proper citation.
- Manuscripts with similarity indexes between 20% and 35% may be returned to authors for clarification, revision, or correction.
- Manuscripts exceeding 35% similarity, or containing evidence of copied, unattributed, or improperly paraphrased material, may be rejected automatically.
The following constitute serious ethical violations:
- Direct copying without citation
- Mosaic plagiarism
- Unattributed translation plagiarism
- Data plagiarism
- AI-generated fabricated citations or content misrepresentation
Where plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, or removal notices as deemed appropriate.
